Dr Alda Terracciano is Research Fellow at University of Sussex, Honorary Research Associate at UCL, where she is co-leader of the Centre for Critical Heritage Studies, and Associate Research Fellow at Birkbeck University. Her research interests include black and Asian theatre in the UK; community archives and critical heritage; immersive technologies and the arts; and socially engaged artistic practice. She researched on digital economy at Queen Mary, University of London, and was Visiting Researcher at Gothenburg University.

As an artist and activist, in 2001 she co-founded Future Histories, the first independent archive of African, Asian and Caribbean performing arts in the UK, and worked with diverse communities in Britain, placing the themes of migration and memory at the centre of her artistic research. In 2010 she founded Aldaterra Projects to promote intercultural dialogue, foster international artistic collaborations, and develop interdisciplinary research across the arts and science.  In 2012 she presented her multisensory immersive installations Streets of… 7 cities in 7 minutes during the London Olympic Games, and in 2017 the interactive digital installation Zelige Door on Golborne Road, co-designed with members of the Moroccan communities in London. Alda has published her research in edited books and journals.
